Older travellers sometimes face a few unpleasant surprises when they rent a car. In Australia, the idea of a maximum rental age is nearly unheard of. That's why we at VroomVroomVroom have prepared a list of our suppliers who have maximum age requirements to determine whether they are still eligible to drive a rental car.
Avis : There is no set maximum driving age from all other Hertz locations in Australia, however, a medical certificate is needed from drivers over 75. Note that it is the location's decision if they will rent to a person over the age of 75.
Budget : There is no maximum age required to rent with Budget. Contact Budget or your rental location for full details.
East Coast Car Rentals: Drivers over the age of 80 can rent a car from East Coast Car Rentals, however, are subject to the approval of the renting officer.
Enterprise : There is no maximum age if you want to rent with Enterprise Australia.
Europcar : Generally, there are no maximum age restrictions, however, make sure to contact Europcar or your rental location for complete information.
Hertz : From all other Hertz locations in Australia, there is no set maximum driving age, however, a medical certificate is recommended from drivers over 75. It is the location's discretion if they will allow a person over the age of 75 to drive. For rentals in Tasmania, it is recommended that drivers over 75 speak to the Tasmanian staff at the time of reservation to confirm eligibility.
Thrifty : There is no maximum age if you want to rent with Thrifty Australia.
