Vehicle payments can be made by credit card. Alternatively, you can use a debit card with a Visa or Mastercard logo. East Coast doesn’t accept cash at city offices.
East Coast require a holding deposit up to the chosen excess on the hirer's credit or debit card. The deposit will be returned upon return of the vehicle in the same condition as it was when rented. The time it will take to refund the deposit depends on the customer’s bank. It can take 3 to 5 business days for the funds to be fully available.
Any valid driver’s licence printed in English meets East Coast’s driving licence requirements. If your licence isn’t in English, you’ll need an International Driving Permit (IDP).
Yes. Basic cover is included in the rental quote. However, in the event the vehicle is stolen, damaged, or a third-party loss occurs during your journey, you must pay up to the Rental Vehicle Excess amount listed in your rental agreement with East Coast.
If you require roadside assistance due to fault of your own, such as locking the keys in the car, or a flat battery due to leaving the lights on, you will be charged a $110 call-out fee. If the issue is mechanical, you won’t be charged.
All East Coast vehicles are fitted with e-Tags, meaning your toll road usage will be recorded and your nominated credit card will be charged by RMS for any amounts accumulated.
No. However, if the car is considered excessively dirty upon return, you may be charged a cleaning fee.
Yes. You need to return the vehicle with the same amount of fuel it had at collection (usually a full tank) or additional fees will apply.
You can modify your booking with the VroomVroomVroom app or contact our customer care team. This is only possible before collecting the vehicle. If the rental period has commenced, you’ll need to contact or visit the nearest East Coast depot. Extensions are subject to vehicle availability and additional charges.
