On renting a vehicle with No Birds

No Birds has one of the broadest ranges of family-friendly vehicles in Australia, offering everything from compact cars and sedans through to pickups and commercial vehicles. Intermediate Car, Standard SUV, Intermediate Crossover, Compact Car
No Birds accepts as payment AMEX, Mastercard, and Visa credit cards, and you can also pay with a Visa or Mastercard debit card. If using a debit card, the card must be embossed with the cardholder’s name, have raised imprinted numbers, and have been issued by a bank.
No Birds requires a bond for any incidental charges related to your rental car. This involves a pre-authorisation hold on your card for the duration of your rental. This security deposit, also known as a holding deposit or bond, varies depending on the type of rental vehicle and the rental location. The amount of this bond can be reduced if you decide to pay for No Birds’ damage waiver, which will attract an additional fee. This deposit refund occurs when the pre-authorisation is removed from your card (pending any additional charges) upon the return of your rental vehicle, however it can take three to seven days to appear on your account — this delay is dependent on your bank.
The minimum age to rent a hire car from No Birds is 21 years of age.
To rent a hire car from No Birds, the renter needs to provide a valid driving licence, a valid credit card (No Birds accepts AMEX, Mastercard, and Visa), and your Medicare Card or passport. No Birds does not accept learner permits.
If you want to register additional drivers for your No Birds hire car, you can, but they are subject to the same regulations as the primary driver and are limited to the number of passengers the vehicle is legally licensed to carry. There is an additional fee for each additional driver, capped to a maximum charge per rental period. Yes. Basic cover is included in the hire car rental quote, but if the vehicle is stolen, damaged, or a third-party loss occurs while the vehicle is in your possession, you’ll have to pay up to the Rental Vehicle Excess amount listed in your No Birds Rental Agreement. The excess refers to the amount renters are liable for before the basic cover applies and the amount of this excess can vary depending on the type of vehicle, the age of the renter, and a number of other variables. No Birds offers additional coverage they refer to as a Damage Waiver, for an extra daily cost, and this can reduce your damage excess charge, but be sure to read through your detailed Rental Agreement to see what is and is not covered. Prosura is another excess insurance option to consider if you are looking for comprehensive excess reduction coverage.
No Birds offers 24-hour roadside assistance, and there’s no charge for roadside assistance related to mechanical issues with the rental car. However, if the call-out is for a problem not inherent to the vehicle, for example if you locked the keys in the vehicle, or you get a flat tire or flat battery, a roadside assistance fee will be charged to your nominated credit card. No Birds has an automated toll management system for their rental cars, meaning you will be charged for the tolls plus a per-toll administration fee. If you would prefer to pay the toll costs directly yourself, you can use your own E-tag in a No Bird hire car. No Birds offers the option of limited or unlimited kilometres with their rental cars. If you choose a limited kilometre option and then drive in excess of the daily limit, you will be charged a mileage charge for the additional kilometres. The No Birds fuel policy requires that you return your hire car to them with the same level of fuel it had when you collected it. Fuel shortages are charged at a premium price by No Birds, so to save money, use the VroomVroomVroom fuel price comparison app to find the best-priced petrol near the depot you need to return your rental car to.
If your hire car rental period is yet to commence, you can modify your booking within the VroomVroomVroom app or by contacting our customer care team to make the required changes. If you have already collected your No Birds hire car, you’ll need to contact the depot you collected the vehicle from to request an extra day — or whatever extension period is desired. Bear in mind that any change to the rental period — regardless of if it is before you have collected the car or after — may alter the total cost of your hire car. If you need to cancel your booking, if you paid a deposit at the time of your booking with No Birds through VroomVroomVroom, then you need to give at least 48 hours notice of your cancellation in order to receive a refund.
The Terms and Conditions of renting a vehicle supplied by No Birds can vary depending on the exact vehicle hired, the age of the driver, the length of the hire period, and a number of other conditions. As such, the exact Terms and Conditions related to an individual vehicle rental can vary from one customer to another and one type of vehicle to another. Once you select a vehicle you are interested in on VroomVroomVroom, you can click on the prominent “Important Information” button to read our guideline to rental terms related to the vehicle which you should be aware of. Later in the booking flow are the detailed Terms and Conditions which include aspects such as licence requirements and cancellation policies, and you will need to read and accept these before finalising your booking. Upon arrival you will also be required to sign a Rental Agreement that outlines the specific Terms and Conditions for your rental.
