What is included and excluded in a rental car price?

The displayed rate of a rental car will include many charges, but may not include other optional features that could add to the overall price. Read on to find out more.

When you search for a car rental booking through VroomVroomVroom, the car hire rate displayed for each vehicle is calculated according to the vehicle type, pickup and drop-off location, place of residence (of the driver), and the driver age. The rates displayed do not however include all possible variations, and there are some common inclusions and exclusions to be aware of which we’ve listed below.

Common inclusions

Generally when you search for a hire car on VroomVroomVroom, the prices displayed in the search results will include the following:

  • GST

  • Basic insurance cover

  • One-way fees

  • Airport taxes

  • Vehicle premium location fees

  • Stamp duty

  • Vehicle registration fees

  • Corporate location fees

  • Age surcharges for young drivers (if you selected the correct age bracket before searching)

  • Change in price associated with the place of residence selected

Common exclusions

The search result prices displayed on VroomVroomVroom generally do not include the following. If you select additional features as a part of your booking process, then the price of any added features will be added to your overall booking price before payment.

  • Security Deposit (which you will be required to leave when you pick up your rental car)

  • Excess reduction products

  • Optional extras such as GPS and child seats

  • Cost for additional drivers

  • Any cover or extras related to snow travel
