How to Add Extras to Your Car Rental Booking

It’s easy to add extras to your booking with VroomVroomVroom. This is possible using our website or the VroomVroomVroom app.

When placing your booking, you’ll find the options to add a GPS unit or child seats below the details of your selected vehicle. If the equipment is available at the time of booking, the cost will be added to the booking.

Be aware that some car rental providers place their equipment ‘on request’ so the cost may not be added at the time of booking. The VroomVroomVroom customer care team will follow up with you to let you know the equipment has been added to your booking before providing you with the updated cost.

Things To Consider When Adding a Car Seat

The main thing to consider is the age of your child. This will determine what kind of child seat you’ll need for your rental car. As a general guide:

  • Under 6 months: Rear-facing child seat with an inbuilt harness. Capsules are not available to hire from car rental companies, only rear-facing seats.
  • 6 months to 4 years: Rear-facing child seat or forward-facing child seat with an inbuilt harness.
  • 4 years to 7 years: Forward-facing child seat with an inbuilt harness or a booster seat with a harness.
  • Over 7 years: Booster seat with a harness. If your child is taller than 145cm, they’ll be able to use the standard seat and adult seatbelt.

Car rental providers will generally add a daily fee to your booking for each child seat.

Things To Consider When Adding a GPS

Like child seats, rental providers will charge a daily fee for any GPS devices added to your booking. Most suppliers will offer a GPS device that can be easily clipped into a holder in the rental vehicle.
