Welcome to Queensland! Are you ready for adventures, Gypsy Nesters?G'day David! Hello Veronica! It's easy to see that you both love adventure. Here are a few suggestions for a day trip, as you enjoy your stay in gorgeous and fun Queensland!
It just isn't a great flight unless you can jump out of the plane!Gold Coast Skydive - headquartered in nearby Coolangatta - is the only tandem skydiving company on the coast. Hop out of their plane at 12,000 feet for an amazing 40-second freefall followed by opening the chute and taking in a breathtaking view of the Gold Coast. You'll float down to land on the warm sand of Kirra Beach!

The SkyPoint Climb!Head back to Gold Coast and check out the remarkable SkyPoint observation deck in Surfers Paradise. This unique attraction might not get your blood pressure up as much as jumping from a plane, but trust us, take the SkyPoint Climb -- the highest external building walk in Australia -- and you'll have another memorable moment or two without the aid of a 'chute! Imagine standing over 880 feet above sea level, with a 360 degree view of the city, the mountains, and the golden sands, all bathed in the magnificent sunshine that makes our Gold Coast so special! There's also a cafe and bar to enjoy.
Just 5-10 minutes from Broadbeach and Gold Coast's city center, you'll exit the Gold Coast Highway at Clifford Street, hang a right onto Surfers Paradise Boulevard and then it's a quick left onto Hamilton Avenue and you'll be there! http://www.skypoint.com.au/
Finish the day with these Amazing Animals! After all the adventures, why not spend the late afternoon with a beautiful one-hour drive in your rental car north to Brisbane? Our last recommended excursion for your self-drive trip is the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, located at 708 Jesmond Road in Fig Tree Pocket, Queensland.
One of the few zoos in Australia where you get a chance to feed and touch animals like koalas, kangaroos, tasmanian devils, dingoes, and wombats, Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary features live shows and educational programs, and is open 8:30 to 5:00 daily. http://www.koala.net/
