Sharks, boats, white water, beauty & rugged adventure fun here in North Queensland!
Hello Dave & Deb! We're very glad you're coming to Australia!
VroomVroomVroom wants you to have a truly awesome time in Queensland. If you're looking for a few adventures while in Cairns, try one or all of these suggestions:
It's Shark Week every week!
ThePlanetD.com has shown us a lot of cool & fun stuff in Canada and around the world, but have either of you gone on an adventure dive?
Taka Dive Australia is a live-aboard-the-yacht trip of 4-7 days that will take you to remote regions of the Coral Sea and the Northern Great Barrier Reef. Operating from 131 Lake Street in Cairns (at the corner of Aplin Street), the company books adventure voyages with a highly-qualified staff aboard the fully equipped expedition yacht "Taka". Taka is a state-of-the-art dive vessel, and you'll go adventure diving at Osprey Reef in the Coral Sea and watch nerve-shattering shark feeds!

The Giant Potato Cod and Maori Wrasse at the Cod Hole are other dives you can experience on your short cruise. For more info, www.taka.com.au -- there are also plenty of other options like snorkeling day trips, just have a look!
Raft with Raging Thunder
Perhaps Planet D is looking for some freshwater excitement, instead? Even on a rainy day, rafting is still a great activity, because the level of the Tully River goes up. Give Raging Thunder White Water Rafting Adventures a shout and you're sure to enjoy the best rafting excursion in the Cairns area. They've been in the business for 30 years, and they are definitely the experts for rafting in North Queensland.
Four Wheels For More Fun!
Another fun experience you might like to enjoy is Adventure North Australia. Dave and Deb, these four-wheel-drive tours are 1-3 days in length, and we recommend their Daintree Dreaming Day Tour, on which you can learn traditional Aboriginal hunting skills! But any of Adventure North Australia's tours will leave you with great memories!
Your tour will go to Cooktown via Cape Tribulation, driving through the gorgeous Daintree National Park, and then returning on the Mulligan Highway inland road. No better trip through the Outback of Far North Queensland exists!

Whether you want a history lesson, want to learn about Australian botany and see the rain forest and outback, or learn about the region's rich Aboriginal culture -- A.N.A. is partnered with Bama Way Aboriginal Journeys for accuracy & authenticity -- the tour you choose will engage and enrich your stay in Australia! Check them out at www.adventurenorthaustralia.com , and they're located at 36 Aplin Street in Cairns.
