East Link

 
Eastlink was originally shown in the 1969 Melbourne Transportation Plan as the F35 Freeway. This A$2.5 billion tollway linking a large area through the eastern and south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Australia is a part of Melbourne's Metropolitan Ring Road project. This tolling system is electronically tolled with no cash booths, using a system developed by SICE which, they claim as the most advanced in operation in the world. On Sunday June 29, 2008 Eastlink opened to traffic and in conjunction with the opening, a month long toll-free period occurred before regular tolling commenced on July 27, 2008. A joint venture of Australian construction companies Thiess and John Holland project, with tolling system contracted to SICE, and mechanical and electrical work contracted to United Group Infrastructure.
 
Where is it?
The North-end part is the Eastern Freeway; south end is Frankston Freeway,  passing Springvale Road,Ringwood Bypass, Burwood Highway, Monash Freeway and Dandenong Bypass. 
 
How do I pay?
You need to have a Breeze Tag, or Transurban's e-TAG installed in your vehicle. 
Casual users need to purchase a "trip pass" valid for a single one-way trip on EastLink. 

How much?
Depending on the class of your vehicle, Eastlink charges the following: 
Cars- 29 cents up to a toll cap of $5.26. The toll cap is the maximum toll for a single trip in one direction.
Motorcycles- 18 cents up to a toll cap of $2.63. Motorcyles are not charged image processing fees.
Commercial Vehicles- from 56 cents up to toll cap of $13.94.
