Hello, mate! Grandpa Ben is here again to give some time saving advice on your travel plans! I will not only suggest a destination but I will bring you adventure as well. So here we go because I will be taking you to Geraldton

Geraldton is one of the port cities of Western Australia. It was only in 1839 that a European decided to explore the area. His name is George Grey but it was a decade after the area had settlers. It was when Augustus Gregory discovered lead on the Murchison River and established a mine. The area was then named after the Governor of that time Charles Fitzgerald.

1. Mount Magnet

Ever wondered why it is called Mount Magnet? It is actually the name of a hill that has an extremely high iron content which affected the compasses of the explorers. Aside from this very interesting hill, the town also boasts of its significant Aboriginal sites that are being preserved by the local community and the Western Australian Museum. So you get to see how the Aborigines lived.

Now, you are not only watching National Geographic channel. You are exactly where you it on TV!

2.Coronation Beach

Are you in for some adrenaline rush? Surfing is a very popular activity here in Geraldton. Ride those waves and show them how real surfing is done!
But if you are not into surfing then you can always go for windsurfing. Coronation Beach is perfect.  The water is flat on the inside and unhindered Indian Ocean rolling swell offshore.
Isn’t that exciting?

3.Tides of Geraldton

Tired and hungry already? Well, it’s about time to sit and relax and enjoy your food with paintings made by local artists adorning the walls, mouth watering food and wonderful service. And have I told you already about the amazing view of the local harbour and the Moresby Ranges?

Now wasn’t an adventure of a lifetime? With the extraordinary Mount Magnet, the exciting surfing and windsurfing spots and, of course, the Tides of Geraldton. You definitely got yourself a vacation and an adventure all in one place. Ah...that’s the kind of vacation that will make your neighbours go green with envy.
