Cheapest to Most Expensive Places to Hire a Car This Christmas

    christmas car rental rates

Are you planning to spend the holidays in another country? Many travellers hire a car since it is one of the most convenient and cost-effective ways to get around their chosen destination. However, rental car rates skyrocket as Christmas gets closer - that's why it is highly-recommended to book a vehicle as early as possible.

To help you decide where to celebrate the 2018 holiday season, VroomVroomVroom has come up with a list of the cheapest to most expensive places to hire a car this Christmas. We have chosen 10 of the most popular cities across the globe for rental cars based on our total number of bookings in December 2017.

Our table below compares costs for one-week rental across 10 popular holiday destinations

Availability is limited and terms and conditions apply. Rates are subject to change.

Based on this list, Auckland, New Zealand is the cheapest place for car rental this Christmas while London, England is revealed as the most expensive for the holiday season. There are many factors as to why car hire rates cost more in other cities; one crucial component is the law of supply and demand. When more people are renting a car from that location and there are only limited vehicles available, then rates are likely to increase. That's why it is best to compare rental cars and book early to take advantage of lower rates and more vehicle choices.
