Europcar houses a large range of vehicles, including sedans, coupes, hatchbacks, wagons, SUVs, and vans.
AMEX, Mastercard, Visa, and Diners Club credit cards are accepted for vehicle payments with Europcar. You can also pay with a Visa or Mastercard debit card.
In addition to the estimated cost of the rental, a AUD $100 security deposit will be held by Europcar for credit card payments, while debit card payment will require a AUD $400 security deposit. For credit card payments, the refund will continue to be automatically released by the customer's bank within a standard period of 3 to 14 days after the rental has been closed. For debit card payments, it may take your bank 7 to 21 days to refund the bond.
Drivers aged 21 and over possessing an unrestricted licence meet Europcar’s minimum age requirement. If you’re under the age of 25, some vehicles may not be available for hire, and a young driver surcharge will apply.
A valid, unrestricted driver licence is required for hiring a vehicle with Europcar in Australia. Learner and provisional licences don’t meet Europcar’s licence requirements. Your licence should be printed in English and display your current residential address. If you’re visiting from overseas and your driver’s licence is in another language, you’ll need to present an International Driving Permit (IDP).

All Europcar vehicles are fitted with e-Tags, meaning your toll road usage will be recorded and your nominated credit card will be charged by RMS for any amounts accumulated.
You don’t have to wash your Europcar vehicle, however, it’s advised you return it in the same condition you picked it up in to avoid additional fees.
Yes. Your Europcar vehicle will likely have a full tank of fuel when you collect it, so to ensure you aren’t charged refuelling fees, you must replace the petrol you used.
If you’re yet to collect your vehicle from Europcar, you can modify your booking with the VroomVroomVroom app or get in touch with our customer care team to make any required changes. If you already have the vehicle, you’ll need to visit the closest Europcar depot to request an extension or alteration at least two hours prior to your scheduled drop-off time. Rental extensions are subject to vehicle availability and additional payment.
We automatically apply any Europcar discounts to the rates we present to you, ensuring you’re offered the lowest rate available.
