Country Guesthouse Schonegg

breakfast in bed

Sporting a long list of awards, Canberra's most highly acclaimed bed and breakfast is looking for more eager guests. Break free of your office blues and shake off your winter boredom. The Country Guesthouse Schonegg will bring you back to life.

There are six guest rooms, all with 4.5 stars, available for guests and there can be configuration changes if need be. Up to 14 people can stay at Schonegg at one time.

Your gracious hosts will welcome you warmly and serve you award winning meals and snacks, not to mention offer goodies to purchase when you leave.

The Guesthouse is situated perfectly in between Yass and Canberra, in little Murrumbateman, so you are technically out in the countryside, while staying relatively close to civilisation. You can sip excellent wines and dine in the Schonegg's high class restaurant, a tribute to your host's internationally educated culinary skills.

The area, despite being a little out of the way, is full of interesting ways to spend your luxury retreat weekend. From fishing and bird watching, to hiking, driving and wine tasting, the Schonegg will always entertain. There are heritage tours in the area, which are perfect for a bit of sight seeing, before you relax for some country meditation.

The on site restaurant is also of particular mention, with seasonal menus to produce the best, freshest tasting meals. The Schonegg founders, Evelyn and Richard Everson both have an impressive culinary resume, including Richard's stint at 'Les Continents' a hotel restaurant in Geneva, which holds a Michelin Star.

The rooms are modern despite their colonial surrounds and of a high caliber. All rooms will seduce you with fresh flowers and lovely breezes, while the deluxe rooms even have in- slab heating.
