To pay for a hire car rented through Bargain Car Rentals, you can use AMEX, Mastercard, or Visa credit cards, or a Visa or Mastercard debit card. Diners Club, cash, cheques, and EFTPOS cards are not accepted.

Bargain Car Rentals will require a credit card pre-authorisation on all rental car bookings. This security bond can be reduced by purchasing a liability waiver. The security bond is removed from your card within three days of the return of the rental vehicle and the finalisation of the booking. Some customers experience five to ten business days before their bank releases these funds back to their account. For the Security Deposit/Bond amount, please refer to the Important Information box located in the booking flow once you have selected the vehicle you wish to book with Bargain Car Rentals.

Bargain Car Rentals’ age requirement is for drivers to be between 21 and 85 years of age and drivers are required to possess a full and unrestricted licence. There is no young driver charge for Bargain Car Rentals, but drivers aged 21 to 24 must still have a full open driver licence that they have held for longer than 12 months — learner permits and provisional licences are not accepted.

Bargain Car Rentals requires a full, unrestricted driver licence printed in English in order to rent a hire car from them. If the licence isn’t in English, an International Driving Permit (IDP) will need to be presented alongside the non-English licence. Learners permits, provisional and probationary driver licences are not accepted.

Bargain Car Rentals allows for one additional driver to be nominated free of charge, with subsequent drivers attracting a per-booking per-driver charge. Additional drivers are subject to the same rules as the primary driver.

Yes. Basic cover, referred to as Liability Reduction by Bargain Car Rentals, is included in the rental quote, but should the vehicle be stolen or damaged in an accident, or a third-party loss occurs, you’ll be liable to pay up to the Rental Vehicle Excess amount as per your Bargain Car Rentals Rental Agreement. The excess refers to the amount renters are liable for before the basic cover applies and the amount of this excess can vary depending on the type of vehicle, the age of the renter, and a number of other variables. Bargain Car Rentals offers a range of additional liability reduction options at the desk when you collect your car, and these paid add-ons can reduce your financial liability in the event of you having an accident or your hire car being damaged, however please read their Terms and Conditions to find out what is and isn’t included in these products. Prosura is another form of excess insurance and is available for purchase at the time you book your hire car through VroomVroomVroom offers comprehensive coverage for a reasonable cost.

Bargain Car Rentals offers a roadside assistance service that can be purchased for an additional daily fee. This package includes key replacement and breakdown towing, and without this paid add-on there is a call-out fee that is levied for each incident. Bargain Car Rental uses number plate recognition to identify when a rental vehicle is used on a toll road, and the associated toll charge and a per-toll service fee is charged to your account. Rental vehicles hired through Bargain Car Rentals come with unlimited kilometres (unless otherwise specified) with the exception of rental vehicles hired in Darwin which have a daily limit of 250 kilometres. Bargain Car Rentals provides three options regarding refuelling your rental car. You can prepay for a full tank of fuel meaning you can return the hire car with a less than full tank (there is no refund for unused fuel), you can refill your tank yourself at your own expense, or, you can return your hire car without a full tank in which case you will be charged at a premium rate to refill the fuel tank. If your hire car rental period is yet to commence, you can modify your booking within the VroomVroomVroom app or by contacting our customer care team to make the required changes. If you have already collected your Bargain Car Rentals hire car, you’ll need to contact the depot you collected the vehicle from to request an extra day — or whatever extension period is desired. Bear in mind that any change to the rental period — regardless of if it is before you have collected the car or after — may alter the total cost of your hire car. If you need to cancel your booking, if you paid a deposit at the time of your booking with Bargain Car Rentals through VroomVroomVroom, then you need to give at least 48 hours notice of your cancellation in order to receive a refund.
