Vanuatu has two main speed limits. In urban and town areas the limit is 50 km/h and on the open road the speed limit is 80 km/h, though there may be reductions in both cases related to road conditions.
Rental cars in Vanuatu come with insurance, but in the case of damage or if your rental vehicle is stolen, you’ll be liable for an excess.
Using a mobile phone with your hand while driving is illegal in Vanuatu. Your phone must be mounted in a dock or another hands-free manner.
Vanuatu has no blood alcohol limit for alcohol consumption when driving, but drivers under the influence can be stopped and fined by the police.
