Thrifty, Hertz and Europcar depots located on the mainland may allow their vehicles to be taken on the ferry to Kangaroo Island, but generally only with prior authorisation so make sure to request this from your supplier.
Unfortunately, you can’t. Any vehicle rented on Kangaroo Island cannot be taken off the island.
There are petrol stations at Kingscote, Parndana, Penneshaw, Island Beach and Vivonne Bay. However, only Kingscote and Penneshaw are open 24 hours.
