The biggest town on Kangaroo Island is Kingscote. Kingscote Airport is located roughly 13 kilometres from the main town of Kingscote. The airport is controlled and operated by the Kangaroo Island Council. If you are not taking the ferry, Regional Express offers flights between Adelaide and Kingscote Airport daily.
For those who wish to pickup from the Adelaide city centre depot, Thrifty allow their vehicles to travel to Kangaroo Island - with very strict conditions that apply to the rentals. Hertz and Budget allow travel to KI from any location, please refer to their Terms and Conditions. Both Hertz and Budget have pickup depots on Kangaroo Island, which can be picked up and dropped off on the island. Please note that vehicles picked up from the KI depot can only be driven on KI and must not leave the island.
