Drive to discover the Top Attractions in Fremantle

The Round House. Before anything else let us pay tribute to Fremantle(I am talking about the place here and the captain) by visiting the oldest building that is still standing in Western Australia.  The Round House was built around 1830s and this was the first permanent building in Swan River Colony.

Originally it was prison for colonial and indigenous prisoners. It had eight cells and a jailer's residence. Then it was converted to house the chief constable and his family. So better get your camera ready because round house is not just the oldest building in Fremantle but it is the oldest building in the whole Western Australia!

Western Australian Museum. Not excited enough to visit the museum? What if I tell you that it is a very old museum and that it showcases collections on archaeology, anthropology, natural sciences and Western Australia's history? Now that is some museum!

It was established in 1891 and it was known as the Geological Museum. Then in 1892 they added ethnological and biological collections were added. And in 1897 it officially became the Western Australian Museum and Art Gallery. But in 1959 the botanical collection was transferred the new Herbarium.

It was also around this time that the Museum and the Art Gallery became separate institutions. But don't fret! Even though they are now separate institutions there are still a lot to see in this museum.

The Oyster Bar. With all that learning and touring you must be tired and hungry. And the perfect place to relax and chow all at the same is the Oyster Bar. Why? Well, you have the wonderful view of the Port Beach, the fresh sea breeze and the sand on your toes. And I haven't even mentioned their fresh fish and oysters and delectable steaks. Now that is dining with nature!

Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour is a commercial marina where you will find many vessels and also sheltered mooring areas. Drive to the harbour in your rental car and enjoy yourself, as it is surrounded by many restaurants and a brewery -- so here, you will find fresh and tasty food. The view is incredible, and you can have a quiet, peaceful and memorable time here. It is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Fremantle and it looks amazing!

Fremantle Arts Center is an organisation where many art events are held. You will find out new things about local art and culture. The center is an old, historic building and it is also near the Fremantle Leisure and Aquatic Center. The Arts Center is also the place where many concerts are held during summer months, as well as other events like exhibitions. You will have a lot to see when you drive your rental car to this area!

The Round House is proof that old, historic buildings are very important for the locals from Fremantle. Visit the Round House in your rental car -- it is the oldest building in Western Australia. It is located at Arthur Head and in the past it was a prison, but now it is an iconic and breathtaking place to visit, and you must see it!
