Toll payments
Logan Motorway is one of Brisbane’s six inner-city toll roads, and connects the M1 and M5 in an east-west direction to the south of Logan, Woodridge, Slacks Creek, Underwood and Springwood. No tollways in Brisbane accept cash or credit card payment, and while most hire cars have e-Tags fitted, treatment of tolls and fines vary by provider. Check your rental car Terms and Conditions for details.
Watch your speed
High-activity school and commercial districts within Logan enforce a 40 km/h speed limit—always watch closely for flashing signs or local zone indicators. Generally, the standard times that most school zones apply right across Queensland are between 7 am and 9 am and 2 pm and 4 pm, though always keep an eye out for signage as there may be local changes and fines for speeding are very high.

Parking restrictions in Logan City, including strict two-hour limits, apply in the Meadowbrook traffic area which covers south of the Logan Motorway and north of University Drive. Be sure to check parking signage before leaving your rental car as fines can be high.
Need to avoid tollways?
To get into downtown Brisbane without using a tollway, Beaudesert Road is one of the most direct non-toll routes. Getting to Brisbane Airport is trickier from Logan, as Gateway Motorway M1 is easily the most direct and efficient route, but is a tollway. Taking Beaudesert Road into the city and then Kingsford Smith Drive to the airport is a good bet, but it will most likely take longer than Gateway Motorway.
