Grandpa's Guide to Driving in Bassendean

Hello there! It’s me again, your Grandpa Ben, and I am just so excited to take you to another tour to one of the most fabulous places here on earth. Isn’t that exciting? We’ll let us not dilly dally. This time I will be taking you to (drum roll, please) Bassendean!

Yes, you got that right. We are heading off to Bassendean! This place is a north-eastern suburb of Perth, Western Australia. It used to be the west Guilford Road District and was renamed Bassendean on the 7th of July 1922 and on the 1st of July 1975 it became a town. So much for its history... But wait, before you start packing why don’t you find a perfect car rental first. You don’t want to be burdened by transportation issues, right? Now that we have a perfect means of transportation, what’s stopping us? Buckle up because this is going to be a fun-and-adrenalin-filled ride.

1. Western Australian Museum

Learning about the place’s culture and history in a museum is never boring especially when it houses over 3 million specimens and their permanent display include the Bird Gallery, Butterfly Gallery, W.A Land and People ,the Mammal Gallery, Dampier Marine Gallery and Diamond to Dinosaurs. Now that’s a lot for one day.

And if you get hungry or thirsty then there is a cafe nearby. And if you like to take a souvenir, well, the Museum shop is just around the corner.

Learning has never been this fun and comfortable!

2. Burswood Entertainment Complex

Fun!Fun!Fun! and nothing but fun and entertainment since they opened in 1985. Name it and they have it--- casino (open 24 hours), bars and restaurants, nightclubs, theatre, riverside cycling trail, golf, spa and the list go on. You will have so much fun here that you will go to your bed with smile on your face for a month. Now that is priceless! If you are the adventurous to the next level type, then this place is definitely for you!

3. Huntlywood Granary

This the perfect place for a weekend getaway or a perfect place to rest after a day of so much fun and excitement. This is the place where you can chillax (chill and relax). A piece of heaven on earth.

You can play golf, go horseback riding, take a lazy walk (or a romantic one, maybe) or you can go mountain biking. But if it is rest that you are after then their rooms are the epitome of comfort and style. Wide, spacious and offers a wonderful view. So you can relax those nerves and have an unforgettable weekend that will make anyone you know go green with envy.
