Hello dear readers! Your favorite grandpa is here again for another traveling tip. We will be visiting Cheltenham today! A suburb in Melbourne, Australia, Cheltenham has a population of about 19, 500. And it is about 18 kilometers southeast of Melbourne’s central business district.
Cheltenham has one of the early estates in the parish of Moorabbin developed by Josiah Holloway in 1852. In 1857, the Cheltenham Post Office opened due to its increased population although; the major growth of Chentelham was in the 1880’s. Cheltenham also has a large industrial area on the eastern edge and a smaller area at the western edge. The western area is famous for Melbourne’s only lift test shaft.
