Grandpa’s Guide to Driving in Braybrook
Good evening my dear friends. I just ate supper and my, it was delicious. While eating, flashbacks about the time when I visited Braybrook kept running around my head. I don’t know its connection with the food I was eating but if I remember exactly, I also enjoyed delicious food in Braybrook. And aside from excellent food, I also enjoyed their tourist attractions.
Braybrook is a suburb located about 9 kilometers west of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Braybrook has a population of 6940 (about a third of Baybrook’s residents were born overseas) and its local government area is the City of Maribyrnong. The suburb is surrounded by Duke Street in the west, by the Maribyrnong River in the north, by Ashley Street in the east and by Sydenham railway line and Sunshine Road to the south.
Braybrook has been an industrial suburb for most of it existence. And presently, Braybrook is starting to resemble a “bedroom community” because of the recent expansion of the western suburbs of Melbourne, which are far less populated than the east.
Braybrook contains a number of schools and one of those schools is the main campus of WELS or the Western English Language Centre. And aside from schools, Braybrook also has a number of tourist attractions.
1. The Highpoint Shopping CentreThe Highpoint Shopping Centre is the major shopping centre in the western suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. With over 400 stores, it is the largest shopping centre serving Melbourne’s western and northern suburbs (the western and northern suburbs have a joint population of at least half a million people).
Highpoint was built on a hill which looks out over the Maribyrnong River to Melbourne’s central business district.
With an annual turnover of $735 million, Highpoint Shopping Centre is also Australia’s fifth most profitable centre.
2. The Medway Golf ClubLocated in the parkland setting along the Maribyrnong River, Medway Golf Club is a leading golf venue!
In Medway Golf Club, the great traditions of golf are embraced head on making sure that people will enjoy the challenge of the course and will feel welcome to share the highlights of the day with others in the Clubhouse.
3. Maribyrnong River and the Maribyrnong River TrailThe Maribyrnong River flows through many suburbs and one of these suburbs is Braybrook.
Maribyrnong River ascends about 50 kilometers north of Melbourne, Victoria, near Mount Macedon. The river flows generally southward and merges with the Yarra River to flow into Port Phillip.
Being the second major river in Melbourne, Maribyrnong River plays an important part in Melbourne’s recreation. One can enjoy boating, fishing, walking, and cycling along paths such as the Maribyrnong River Trail. One can also enjoy light bushwalking where nature lovers can observe Australian native fauna (echidna, wallabies, possums, and flying foxes).
By the way, if you ever plan to go Braybrook, don’t forget to book your rented car with the Braybrook Car Rental. This company allows you to book a car with affordable rental rates in just a few minutes! You’ll spend less time in choosing a car and you’ll have more time having fun!
