Grandpa’s Guide to Driving in Bayswater
G'day mates. I am supposed to be resting today but I can't get my hands to stop writing about guides. And for today, I have a very fascinating place for you. Bayswater. By the way, if you plan to go there, don’t forget to avail a rented car from vroomvroomvroom.com.au where it allows you to choose and book a cheap car in good-working conditions. They also have superb customer service. Now, let’s go back to Bayswater.
Bayswater is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It is about 28 kilometers from Melbourne’s central business district and its Local Government Area is the City of Knox. Bayswater has a population of about 10,738.
The suburb has interesting places that will surely stir up your curiosity.
1. The Cathedral Range State ParkThe Cathedral Range State Park is a state park in Victoria, Australia which includes the impressive Cathedral Range and adjacent to the Little River valley. The Park is to the east of Maroondah Highway (between Buxton and Taggerty), approximately 150 kilometers northeast of Melbourne.
The Park is a popular bushwalking destination for people because it has a wide variety of terrain and is easily accessible from Melbourne. Managed trails cover the area of the range —through Cathedral Peak, North and South Jawbone, to Sugarloaf Peak. The Park also has three camping sites: The Farmyard, which is located on the range and is only accessible by foot, Ned Gully and Cooks Mill which are both accessible by vehicle.
Aside from bushwalking and camping, rock climbing and abseiling at Sugarloaf Peak and the Jawbones are also popular activities in the park.
2. Adventure DownunderAdventure Downunder is another of the activities which you can enjoy in Bayswater (dive trips).
The Adventure Downunder was established 35 years ago by former commercial and navy clearance divers (making it a dive center with solid foundations). They specialize in sales, hire, and service of technical diving equipment such as closed-circuit rebreathers.
Adventure Downunder also offers a comprehensive program of courses which are carried out with a low student-trainer ratio thus focusing on personalized service that stresses students’ safety, confidence, and enjoyment.
3. The Ambleside Park Museum and GardensThe Ableside Park Museum is a local history museum housed in a century old farmhouse. The farmhouse has rooms that contain displays depicting a parlor and a bedroom early in the twentieth century. The Museum also has the School Photograph Collection (which is a popular section of the museum) where about 25,000 photographs are kept in a room.
The Ambleside Park Gardens is located on two acres of land. Many of the trees in the gardens were planted in the 1870s. In the front garden, you’ll see camellias, rhododendrons, a holly, a magnolia, and a blackwood tree which were planted in the 1890s. The Gardens are available for hire for weddings, wedding photographs, and group picnics.
You’ll certainly enjoy every minute in Bayswater!
