M2 Hills Motorway

 
What is it?
 
M2 forms part of Sydney Metroad 2 and the 110 km Sydney Orbital Network West of Pennant Hills Road. It's a toll road that is also part of the National Highway. M2 Hills Motorway was developed to connect Old Windsor Road, Seven Hills to Epping Road, North Ryde, and thus bypass the busy inner western suburbs. In turn, Epping Road that connects with Gore Hill Freeway at Artarmon which leads to the Harbour Bridge and the CBD. However, the M2 Motorway was known as the F2 Freeway (or North West Freeway) before its construction.

Where is it?
Lane Cove Tunnel on the East end and WestLink on the West, passing Lane Cove Road and Cumberland Highway.
 
How do I pay?
If you opt to pay in cash, you can use the lanes marked 'Cash' or 'Change Given, located on booths on the left-hand side of the motorway. 
Otherwise, for frequent users, you need to have Roam Express installed in your vehicle.

How much is the toll?
Depending on your vehicle, your fees may also vary. M2 has 2 toll classes:
1. Two axle vehicles less than 2.8 meters in height or 3 axle vehicles less than 2 meters in height is classified as Class 2;
you will be charged $4.95 when you pass along North Ryde and $2.75 along Pennant Hills Road.
 
2. All other vehicles are considered Class 4; Passing North Ryde will cost you $14.80 and $7.70 in Pennant Hills Road.
