Barcaldine is a small town situated in Western Queensland, Australia. Barcaldine is the administrative centre of the Barcaldine region and is about 520 kilometers from the western part of Rockhampton. It has a population of approximately 1900 and its major industries are wool and grazing.
The name “Barcaldine” was taken from the name of a sheep station called Barcaldine Downs.
