Grandpa’s Guide to Driving in Narrandera
G’day, mates! So how are things with my fellow travel-loving readers? Hope things are just as splendid for you as they are for me. I might be a little old to be off adventure after adventure but that doesn’t mean I can’t pass on my travelling wisdom to my friends now, does it? So, let’s proceed to another one of my famous travel guides!
This time, I’m featuring Narrandera, a town you’ll find in southern New South Wales, Australia. Since it’s located at the junction of the Newell and Sturt Highways it has become quite a key destination for travelers. Not only that, it serves as a gateway to the productive Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area.
Narrandera is what I like to call a “River Town” that’s big on culture. It’s nice to immerse yourself in a pleasant town that is proud of its heritage. With the townspeople as amiable as the relaxing environment, it’s a great place to escape to if you’re looking for a break from the hustle and bustle of big cities.
But wait just right there. Before you go off and start your journey make sure you’ve dealt with your transport. While you’re vacationing in Narrandera it’d be a wise decision to get yourself a car rental. With the convenience of a car rental you can save yourself from all the stress and extra time and money it takes to settle with public transport. Here at Narrandera Car Rental you can find the deals you want, according to your budget. Trust me, it’s the smartest decision you can make at this point.
Let’s get cracking then! It’s time to give you a rundown of the best places to check out while you’re in Narrandera.
1. Antique Corner and Objects D’ArtDrive down to Larmer Street and you can’t miss the Art-History attraction that is Antique Corner and Objects D’Art. It’s a great place to start if you wanna see the inner makings of the fair Narrandera by giving their local art a look. Enjoy this newly restored historical home that’s set in a striking and spacious garden area.
The place is famous for its prized and high-quality antiques, original oil paintings and of course, its “objects d’art”. Want to swim in a sea or the town’s artistry? Well, visitors of all ages and backgrounds are most welcome!
2. Lavande Aromatiques Lavender FarmHow about dropping into Bells Road, straight to Lavande Aromatiques Lavender Farm. The place is actually a bigshot lavender supplier. Everything from dried lavender to essential oils to beautifully handcrafted lavender skins care products and gift item, Lavande Aromatiques has got it all!
This is a great and relaxing place to stop by if you’re looking for sweet smells and pretty growth. Buying a couple of their products for your female loved ones isn’t a bad idea either. So, I suggest you better stock up on the lavender love. Everyone needs that kind of pampering every once in a while.
3. Lake Talbot look-outIf you want to finish off your vacation with a little scenic viewing, I’ve got just the place. Lake Talbot Look-out boasts of having the best panoramic view of Lake Talbot, Narrandera’s main irrigation canal plus the nature reserve around it. Take a walk on the track that starts from the lookout and goes around the lake to get a close-up of how pretty and serene the waters can be.
That’s not all you can do at this artificial lake. You can actually come by and engage in boating, canoeing, water skiing and all that water work. So if you were itching to get active, now’s a good time to stretch those muscles and show your skill.
I’ve just given you a bulleted list of what you should try out in Narrandera. It doesn’t have to be limited to that, mates. If you’ve got extra time to visit some other scenes, well be my guest. I welcome the fun it’ll bring.
Have a blast, kids! ‘Til my next guide, then?
Cheers!
- Grandpa Ben
