Grandpa’s Guide to Driving in Inverell

It’s a lovely day outside, if I do say so myself. I was just out for lunch with my best mate. He’s still a handsome old skipper, he is. Charming as a fox too! Imagine, he proposed to his wife with the prettiest sapphire-stoned wedding ring. Of course she said yes and the rest is history!

What I would like to tell you though, is that he got that sapphire from Inverell, a town north of New South Wales, Australia, whose pride and joy is its sapphires. Inverell has even picked up a name from it, “Sapphire City”. It’s quite catchy, eh?

And guess what? Sapphires are not the only things that can me mined out of Inverell. They’ve got tin, zircons and industrial diamonds at the plenty too. Not only that, the Inverell district is blessed with very fertile soil which brought forth a rich yield of crops. Wheat, barley, oats. Wine grapes or maize. You name it, Inverell’s got it!

But before you set out on your trip across Inverell, let’s get your transportations issues solved, yeah? For me, the only way to go round the town if you aren’t a local is by car rental. It’s a real investment, trust me, because it saves you time and from a lot of stress.

You and your family can enjoy all the convenience and privacy you want by clicking here at Inverell Car Rental where you can pick out the best car rental deal that your budget will allow!

Once you’ve got your car rental sorted out, you’re ready to discover Inverell for yourself! And lucky you because I’ve trimmed down the list to present only Inverell’s best and brightest.

1. National Transport Museum

First on the list! Think of it as the garage of your dreams! The National Transport Museum houses an expanding display of over a hundred exhibits. Any vehicle on wheels that you can imagine, it’s all here. You’ve got your cars, trucks, motorcycles, bicycles, pedal cars, scooter, fire engines even!

The museum tries to mix it up ever so often by bringing in rarer and more exotic creations. If you’re into quirky inventions and automobiles, well, you’re going to have a field day here!

2. Inverell Art Society

Now, a place to satisfy your artistic tastes! For over 47 years, the Inverell Art Society has been showcasing their diverse collection of original arts and crafts items to the public. Every piece is for sale and I’m sure you’ll find something exquisite that’s just within your budget.

Not only that, you’ll find the Inverell Art Society snugly sandwiched in between two heritage buildings, the old School of Arts building and Butler Hall. You can also pop in for a look at those other two structures if you want, as an extra treat!

3. Olives of Beaulieu

For something to tickle your real tastebuds, Olives of Beaulieu, a family-owned olive grove and attraction that offers up estate manufactured spices and to-die-for regional gourmet foods.

Here at the estate you can take a relaxing walk through the olive grove and indulge your palate with the local olives, oil and crusty bread. Sit down and have some tea! Be entertained by a very accommodating and charming host who’ll fill you in on all you need to know about the Olives of Beaulieu.

Is your stomach rumbling at this point? Yes? Well, then, my mission’s accomplished!

That’s it for Inverell, folks! Hope your visit’s a memorable one! Take lots of pictures and talk with lots of locals. That’s a sure-fire formula for a very amazing vacation!

Cheers!
