Grandpas Guide to Driving in Bomaderry

A warm morning my dear friends. I'm in a fast food chain right now. I stopped by to grab something to eat. I drove around town to keep myself busy. I brought my journal with me so that once I get tired of driving, I'll just look for a cozy area and write about the different things I've encountered and about the different scenarios I've seen the whole morning.

When I drove around the park, I saw families having picnics and barbecues, some couples are enjoying their dates, children running around, and pet owners walking their dogs. A very nice thing to see. I remember the time when I went to Bomaderry, I visited two places where I’m sure that families will surely enjoy their day.

Bomaderry is a town in the area of the Shoalhaven council district in New South Wales, Australia. It is located on the northern shore of Shoalhaven River. In 2006, it has  a population of about 6,601 people.

When I went to Bomaderry, I rented a car so that it will be easier to travel. I don't have to wait in line on bus stops and I can go anywhere, anytime. I booked a car from the Vroom Vroom Vroom Company (www.vroomvroomvroom.com.au) because they offered the cheapest car rental rates that surely fitted my budget. They also easily adjusted to the sudden change in my schedule -my trip was delayed for two days.

My trip:

1. Bomaderry Creek Walking Track

The Bomaderry Creek Walking Track is a small haven of bushland which is near the town of Bomaderry. It is a walking track that has patches of remnant rainforest, spotted gum forest, dry woodland, and small hanging swamps. The small canyon is abundant in Aboriginal heritage and steep sandstone faces.

Bomaderry Creek has two walking tracks. One is a 5.5 kilometer return walk along the eastern and western tracks -which will take you 3 hours to walk- and the other is a 1.4 kilometer walk along the western track to rock crossing where you will be returning to the track head via Mossy Gully which will take you about an hour.

The track traces the Bomaderry Creek which has passes through sandstone forming remarkable cliffs, overhangs, caves, and rock walls. The area has visitor facilities such as picnic areas with sheltered tables, gas barbecues, and toilets. You can also bring your dogsbut be sure that they are kept on a leash at all times.

2. Bomaderry Aquatic Center

The Bomaderry Aquatic Center is open all year round and offers diverse programs and activities that suit all ages of user and swim abilities.

The Aquatic Center has 50-meter outdoor and 25-meter indoor pools. I really enjoyed swimming there.

My experience in Bomaderry was really fun and relaxing. Relaxing in the sense that the fresh air in the Walking Track was really exalting and fun in the sense that I had a great time swimming in their Aquatic Center.

Aside from walking through beautiful tracks and swimming in their Aquatic Center, I enjoyed driving around the town.

Well, I have to head home.
If you're planning to visit Bomaderry, I'm sure you'll have fun.
