Grandpa’s Guide to Driving in Morphett Vale
So you might be here because you’re itching to come to the sunny outback of Australia for a well-deserved vacation? Alright, that’s great! Absolute nothing wrong with that, mate.
Yeah, except you can only choose one or two destinations from hundreds of amazing cities and towns! Oh, narrowing it down seems quite impossible, yeah? Don’t worry, Grandpa Ben’s back with another one of his amazing guides! Yes, you better believe it! He’s got all the goods on the greatest sites and this time, it’s the lovely suburb of Morphett Vale!
Why Morphett Vale, you might ask? Easy. It’s the biggest suburb in the state of South Australia. Found in the City of Onkaparinga, it spans across 12.76km² and houses over 23,000 residents. Aside from this, Morphett Vale also has a thousand or so business so whatever you’re looking for, be it places, people or purchases, you can take your pick here!
But hold your horses! You might be facing that tricky situation of getting around Morphett Vale via public transportation. Let me tell you, kiddo, that ain’t the way I’d like to roll. If I were you, I’d get a car rental. Convenience, style and safety. All in one vehicle. Now, that’s a dream come true, mate. So you should head on to Morphett Vale Car Rental and check out the deals. You’ll find prices within your reach, all with a sweet ride. You better believe it!
Now, onto the goods, shall we? Let’s start off with a sight easy on the eyes.
1. Morphett Vale Police Station and Court House ComplexYou’re first destination is Morphett Vale Police Station and Court House Complex. These buildings made for law enforcement were built around the 1850s. Until 1962, they were used as they were originally intended: keeping the peace and justice. But after that, an Anglican Church bought the property and made the buildings into shrines of sorts. This went on for a while, until 1983 exactly, because they found the building unsuitable. Now the courthouse is used as a community food barn by St. Hilary of Poitiers.
It doesn’t seem like much, at first glance, being made of local stone and hand-made bricks. But it has this certain charm to it that I implore you to experience for yourself. It’s a sure-fire way to immerse yourself in Morphett Vale’s history.
2. Mt Hurtle WineryMorphett Vale happens to be quite renowned for its vineyards. Tuscany in South Australia seems to be a big impossibility, right? Well, an afternoon at Mt Hurtle Winery will change your thoughts about that. There are lush gardens and four glorious acres of vineyards, all for you to see. Feel proper chilled and relaxed, yeah? And don’t forget to try the wine. It’s quite swinging, if I may say so myself.
3. Morphett Vale Country Fire ServiceThis might be a tad unusual, that I suggest you visit a Fire Station and all, but I promise you it’s going to be good. So give it a chance, yeah? Face it, fire engines are fascinating. Especially when they’re all in one place. So come on, you know you want to… So come over to Morphett Vale County Fire Service! It’s hot, but just the metaphorical kind!
And that’s just some of the variety you’ll find in Morphett Vale. If you have any extra time, you can check out the other attractions I might’ve missed out on this guide. Go ahead, be my guest! Just be sure to send over some pictures. Deal? Splendid!
Have a good one, mate! I’m signing off now. Wishing you happy dreams as well!
