Brisbane Comedy Festival
Everyone has heard of the Melbourne, Montreal and Edinburgh Comedy festivals but have they heard of the Brisbane Comedy Festival…well probably not…but they will.
The Brisbane Comedy festival was launched in 2009 and saw some very classy acts pass across its stages. In 2010 you can expect more of the same and lots more.
The Venue
The brilliant Powerhouse is again playing host to the festival and is the best venue for comedy by far in Brisbane. The Audience is nice and close to the performers **Bar Alto and Wat turn on the very yummy eats and bevies and transport is abundant.
The Performers
See the likes of Adam Hills, Frank Woodley and the extremely funny Wil Anderson along with Pete Helliar and Kitty Flanagan. These well know Aussie comics are in the mix with many other local and international comedians who you may have seen on show like Spicks & Specks and Good News Week. Also look out for the brisbanetimes.com.au Chalkboard on Friday and Saturday nights. For just $10.00 you will be entertained by random comics from the festival. Now where else will you get an hours entertainment for $10 on a Friday or Saturday night.
The Dates
Tues day 23rd February to Sunday 21st March 2010. The festival really swings into action in the last two weeks with the addition of an outdoor eating area bar and free transport to the event.
**Please note that theatre size allows hecklers to be spotted at extremely close range by performers so Heckle at your own risk.
