When booking a rental car, it's important to be mindful of the laws around child seats in Australia. If your child is six months old or younger, a rear-facing child seat will be required. Children under the age of seven should never sit in the front of the car, and depending on their age, may need to be fastened into a child seat of some kind.
The type of child seat required will depend on the age, height, and weight of your child.
Depending on the height and weight of your child, there may be exceptions. Visit https://roadsafety.transport.nsw.gov.au/ for more information.
If you need to add a rear-facing, forward-facing child seat, or a booster seat to your booking, you can do so during the booking process depending on availability. If the option for child seats is ‘on request’, our team will contact you to confirm your request and let you know the updated cost.
If you have already made your booking, you can request a child seat by contacting our customer care team.
In the instance you require more than two child seats, you’ll need to contact us directly as this request will depend on availability and the type of vehicle you are renting. Remember, it's the responsibility of the driver to ensure all passengers are secured in the vehicle correctly, including having children in the appropriate restraints.
The daily cost of the child seat will vary depending on your rental provider. Refer to the terms and conditions of your selected provider for current pricing.
