Luckily, Moreton Bay is only a short drive away from central Brisbane. Few people realise that its turquoise waters lie so close to Brisbane. In fact, Redcliffe is a quick 35 minute drive north of Brisbane city.

Go on a Do- It- Yourself tour drive along the Redcliffe foreshore! Set amid Moreton, Bramble and Deception Bays, Redcliffe’s sandy swimming beaches make a great last minute beach escape. Follow the brown and white dugong signs along the Moreton Bay Tourist Drive.

For Wynnum, Manly or Moreton Island, drive east from downtown Brisbane along Wynnum Road.

Cruise along Moreton Bay, board one of the boats leaving daily from Manly Harbour.

In Boondall, visit Ramsar – the protected Boondall Wetlands, Bicentennical Road, Boondall.

Between June and November you can watch the migration of humpback whales along the bay.

If you want, you can take the car ferry over to Moreton Island and fish, swim, snorkel, sand toboggan, camp, surf, fish.

Sit under the majestic Norfolk Pines and shady Cotton Wood Trees from Scarborough Beach Park and admire Moreton Island.

Fish off one of the southern hemisphere’s longest bridges that used to link the cities of Redcliffe and Brisbane early last century.

Suttons Beach is said to be Redcliffe’s best beach. It has recently undergone a $2.4 million transformation and been re- landscaped into a 1.5 kilometre recreation beach.

Fish off the new Redcliffe Jetty that has bait and fish cleaning tables!

Take a tandem parachute jump landing on the beach, or take a joy flight over Redcliffe and Moreton Bay.

Cycle along more than 20 kilometres of coastline hugging tracks, savour the many water views along the peninsula at your own pace. There are a number of esplanades to walk or cycle along the foreshore villages.

With the precious Moreton, Bramble and Deception Bays, Redcliffe makes a great beach destination that’s only a stone’s throw away from Brisbane.
